Following her poems, Hastings gives a day by day account of the family tour from Lancaster County over the Alleghenies to Washington, Pennsylvania in October, 1808. Thomson included it in his Ohio Bibliography since it contains an account of the Ohio River at Pittsburgh as well as interesting commentary on what was then the western frontier. [Howes H289.
