Harald Olsen (1928-) was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and received his formal education at the University of Utah where he earned a BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts). Olsen is represented in private collections internationally as well as in the US. He has taught at his own school in Salt Lake area as well as conducting workshops throughout the western states and Canada. The painting shows a desert scene with several tall “pillar” rocks, some vegetation and an expansive blue sky with a few white clouds. Perhaps from Monument Valley? A little reminiscent in style of both Maynard Dixon and Blumenschein. Very attractive.
Approximately 22 x 36 inches, oil on board, framed.
