Quarto, original black cloth, coloured pictorial illustration affixed to front cover, spine lettered in gilt, top edge gilt, pictorial endpapers . Spine and edges a bit faded, plate a little sunned with a few small faint stains, rear endpapers starting to split over hinge, a very nice copy.
The first book in this famous series. Wyeth's vision of Stevenson's Treasure Island is perhaps as fine an example as exists in all of popular literatrue of the marriage between text and illustration. [Allen p. 218. Dykes 315].
